John Klein (Richard Gere - Days of Heaven) doesn't know how he arrived in the small town of Point Pleasant, 400 miles out of his way. But it is a strange place. The whole town seems haunted by a mysterious creature - and the eye-witness sketches look exactly like the thing that John's late wife drew as she was dying. Ominous portents gather, and he becomes increasingly certain they mean that lot of people are going to die. Supposedly based on a true story, The Mothman Prophecies is a fabulously creepy story of inexplicable phenomena and all-too-understandable grief, with director Mark Pellington (Arlington Road) wringing every last drop of 'spooky' from an atmospheric script.
