A retired court investigator becomes drawn back into a decades-old murder case while working on a novel inspired by the crime. Revisiting the evidence and memories from the original investigation forces him to confront unresolved questions from the past. His search also reunites him with a former colleague, bringing long-buried emotions back to the surface.
